FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What's the difference between M-500 and G-500?

The M-500 includes the mask body, one pair of gas filters (A1 in the standard version, ABEK1 in the ABEK1-P2 version), and three pairs of P2 particle filters. The G-500 is the same mask body with one extra pair of P2 filters, plus safety goggles, earplugs, and a storage bag. Choose the M-500 if you already own goggles and don't need the full kit; choose the G-500 if you're starting from scratch.

Does the M-500 use the same filters as the G-500?

Yes. The M-500 uses the same C-500 particle filters and F-500 gas filters as the G-500 and G-750. The bayonet mount is identical across all AirGearPro reusable masks, so filters are interchangeable. The mount also accepts standard 3M-style filters.

What's the difference between M-500 A1P2 and M-500 ABEK1-P2?

Both variants share the same mask body. The A1P2 version ships with A1 gas filters — organic vapours like paint thinners, solvents, varnish. The ABEK1-P2 version ships with ABEK1 filters — broader gas spectrum, including inorganic gases, acid gases, and ammonia. Choose based on the chemicals you work with.

Does the M-500 work with prescription glasses?

Yes. The M-500 mask body sits below the nose bridge, so prescription glasses run above the mask seal without interference. The M-500 does not include goggles, so glasses-and-goggles fit is not a question for this product. For eye protection alongside the mask, the Vision-1000 goggles or the G-750 full-face respirator are the matching options.

Is the M-500 CE certified?

Yes. The M-500 is CE certified and meets the same European standards stack as the G-500 — EN 140 (half-mask body), EN 14387 (gas filters), and EN 143 (particle filters). The certification covers the mask body and the filter cartridges used with it.

How do I get a good seal on the M-500?

Place the mask over your nose and mouth. Pull the lower strap behind your neck and the upper strap across the crown of your head. Tighten the lower strap first, then the upper. The TPE seal should sit firmly against your face without pinching. To test, cover the filters with your palms and breathe in: the mask should draw onto your face and stay there.

How long does the M-500 mask body last?

The M-500 mask body is a reusable product designed for years of use, not a consumable. Only the filters need replacing. Wipe the mask body clean after each use, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and inspect the seal periodically for wear. A worn or damaged seal is the most common reason to retire the mask body.
