Which masks fit the C-500 filter?

The C-500 is a pre-filter used with all AirGearPro reusable masks: G-500, M-500, and G-750. It fits on top of an F-500 gas filter cartridge to add particle filtration ahead of the gas layer. It is held in place by a transparent filter cover that snaps over the front of the F-500.

What's the difference between C-500 P2 and C-500 P3?

P2 filters block at least 94% of airborne particles. P3 filters block at least 99.95%. Both are tested to European standard EN 143. Choose P2 for general dust, sanding, woodworking, and DIY. Choose P3 for finer or more hazardous particulates — asbestos, lead dust, silica, biological aerosols. P3 is the higher-protection rating.

How often should I change C-500 filters?

Replace particle filters when breathing becomes noticeably harder, when the filter is visibly soiled, or after eight hours of cumulative use — whichever comes first. In heavy dust, replacement is more frequent. For occasional DIY use, a pair of filters typically lasts several weeks of intermittent work. Store unused filters sealed in their original packaging.

What do C-500 filters protect against?

C-500 filters block airborne particles — dust, sanding debris, paint mist, mould spores, fine fibres, and similar particulates. They do not protect against gases, vapours, or odours; for those you need an F-500 gas cartridge. The C-500 is used alongside the F-500 — it sits on top of the F-500 as a replaceable pre-filter, catching particles first and extending the gas cartridge's working life.

Can I clean and reuse C-500 filters?

No. C-500 filters are designed to be replaced, not cleaned. Washing, rinsing, or shaking out the filter damages the filtration material and reduces its protection. Once a filter reaches the end of its working life, dispose of it and fit a new one. The mask body itself is reusable for years; only the filters are consumables.

How do I install a C-500 filter?

The C-500 is a pre-filter that fits on top of an F-500 gas filter cartridge. Place the C-500 over the front of the F-500, then snap the transparent filter cover over the C-500 to lock it in place. Repeat on the other filter cartridge. To replace the C-500, remove the transparent cover, lift off the used C-500, and fit a new one before replacing the cover.

Do C-500 filters expire if unused?

Sealed in their original packaging, C-500 filters have a five-year shelf life. Check the expiry date printed on the packaging. Once you open a filter, its working life starts; an opened-but-unused filter degrades faster than a sealed one. Store filters in a cool, dry place away from chemical vapours.

Are C-500 filters CE certified?

Yes. C-500 filters are CE certified and tested to European standard EN 143 — the standard for particle filters used with reusable respirators. The certification covers both the P2 and P3 variants. Each filter is marked with the EN 143 standard and its protection class on the rim.
